Elsewhere exists somewhere between a landscape and a memory of one. Soft layers of colour dissolve into each other, while small marks and fragments suggest distant horizons, structures or traces of something once seen.

The painting was built intuitively, allowing shapes and colours to emerge without a predetermined image. Its open, atmospheric space invites the viewer to complete the scene and perhaps recognise a place that has never really existed.
